Schechter Shines: ISACS Commendations
This week, Schechter welcomed members of the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS) Accreditation Review Committee to our school to interact with our faculty, staff, and students, sit in on classes, and be a part of our community as they learn about what our school has to offer.
While the final decision regarding accreditation is pending and expected in the weeks to come, we are proud to share that our school has received five commendations in recognition of our commitment to excellence.
⭐️ Schechter demonstrates a true commitment to its mission as a Solomon Schechter school and infuses the school with a love of Judaism and Israel. Schechter creates community around Jewish values, Kehilla, and Tribes, takes seriously its role in educating students towards fluency in tefillah, Jewish texts, and Hebrew language, and emphasizes student behavior consistent with Jewish traditions.
⭐️ Schechter meets the needs of each student. Through its policies, procedures, and most importantly, its Tzevet (faculty and staff), Schechter demonstrates a deep commitment to the needs of the whole child and strives to meet the individual, academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and physical needs of each of its students.
⭐️ Schechter invests tremendous time and resources in the support and growth of its Tzevet. This is demonstrated by its robust supervision processes, having full-time instructional coaches, its mentoring and critical colleague program, and investment in professional development. This commitment to the growth and well-being of its staff results in very high teacher retention.
⭐️ Schechter prioritizes collaboration among the faculty within each team. Schechter provides the encouragement, space, and time for teachers to meet about curriculum, students, and grade issues in order to best meet the needs of the students and the mission of the school.
⭐️ Schechter has created a welcoming physical environment where students can exercise their creativity and innovation. With its new renovations, Schechter provides a warm and engaging facility where students can develop and hone skills for the 21st century.
This acknowledgment reflects our ongoing dedication to maintaining high academic standards, fostering student achievement, and embracing a culture of continuous enhancement.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our exceptional faculty, staff, students, and families whose unwavering support has been instrumental throughout this process.
Thanks to Ilene Brot, General Studies Student Growth Coordinator/Instructional Coach, for leading this monumental effort, the self-study chapter chairs and steering committee; Shira Rozgovich for organizing the beautiful welcome reception; Meital Hochenboym for her incredible organization throughout this process; and every member of our tzevet for their commitment to this process and helping us to shine throughout the ISACS team’s visit.
