Affording
Schechter

We understand that a Jewish day school education is both an extraordinary gift for your child and a significant investment for your family. At Schechter, we continually strive to balance affordability with the costs of implementing our outstanding educational program.

Schechter provides convenient payment options for our families. We recognize that paying the full cost of a Schechter education may not be possible. We are proud to offer Flexible Tuition to Sager School families that is consistent with their financial means, along with the new TAP Program. See below for more information.

Flexible Tuition: A Customized Approach

Flexible Tuition is a robust and innovative program that allows families to pay for their child’s education based on their financial ability. More than 75% of our students, from families with a wide range of income, benefit from Flexible Tuition.

How is Flexible Tuition determined?

We consider your family’s full financial picture with the help of an independent third party. Factors include family size, adjusted gross income, existing child care costs, and other family expenses and assets.

Flexible Tuition is made possible through the generosity of our supporters, with special thanks to the Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago, The Saffir Family, The Crown Family, The Etta Jonas Scholarship Endowment, the Bernard Heerey Family Foundation, The Jordan A. Feldman Scholarship Fund, and the Invest in Kids Tax Credit Scholarship Program.

TAP into your child’s future

The Tuition Accessibility Partnership (TAP) Fund is an alternative tuition model for families with an annual adjusted gross income (AGI) between $200,000 and $350,000. TAP caps tuition at 12% of a family’s AGI, regardless of the number of children they have enrolled at Sager School.

Learn more by visiting TapFundChicago.org or by attending the community-wide webinar on Monday, December 11, 7:30 – 8:30pm.

The TAP Fund is powered by Crown Family Philanthropies, a Chicago-based foundation dedicated to partnering with its communities to effect just and lasting social impact across generations.

Does your family’s AGI fall outside TAP income guidelines? Our existing Flexible Tuition program (described above) utilizes vigorous funding from alternative sources to ensure tuition is customized to your unique circumstances.
