What is the 8th Grade Israel Experience?

The 8th Grade Israel Experience is more than just a trip—it’s the culmination of years of learning, community, & discovery at Schechter. For two unforgettable weeks, students bring their Jewish education to life as they travel across Israel, exploring its ancient history, modern innovations, & vibrant culture alongside their classmates & teachers.

What can we expect on this trip?

The 8th Grade Israel Trip is an extraordinary journey designed to deepen students’ connection to their heritage while exploring the rich history, culture, & landscapes of Israel. From historic sites to vibrant cities, this immersive experience allows students to engage with the land of their ancestors in meaningful & educational ways.

During the trip, students will visit iconic landmarks such as the Western Wall, the Dead Sea, & Yad Vashem, gaining firsthand insight into the historical & cultural significance of these places. The itinerary includes interactive tours, cultural experiences, & opportunities for personal reflection, all aimed at enhancing their understanding of Jewish history & traditions.

In addition to exploring Israel’s history & geography, students will engage in activities that foster personal growth, leadership, & a deeper appreciation for their Jewish identity. This trip is not only an educational experience but also a chance for students to create lasting memories, strengthen their connections with peers, & develop a profound sense of belonging to the Jewish people.
